MCB Agricole Holding AG is a holding company existing under Austrian law with its registered seat in Vienna.

Its main subsidiary is Ukrzernoprom Agro LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of Ukraine, which is fully owned by MCB Agricole Holding AG.
 

  • Strategic goal
Ukrzernoprom Agro’s (hereto after “Company”) goal is to become a leading crop raising company of Ukraine and one of the world’s leading agrarian producers economically, ecologically and in terms of social responsibility.
 
  • 12 years of extensive industry expertise
The Company has been in the agricultural business since 1999. Today it has a well-established history, reputation and successful track record. Presently, the Company is one of the leading crop raising companies in Ukraine and Europe.
 
  • Crop raising is the main and only business of the Company
Growing and selling crops, mainly wheat, rapeseed, barley, sunflower seed and corn is the Company’s main line of business. The management team recognizes that value is created in the (farming) fields so it is not diminish this value by diversifying into other spheres of activity, which includes processing agricultural commodities.
 
  • About 256 thousand tons of grain-crops  harvested in 2011.
Ukrzernoprom Agro harvested more than 240 ths tons from more than 63 ths ha in 2008. In 2009 and 2010 the Company harvested 190 and 185 ths tons respectively. The 2011 crop reached 256 ths tons.
 
  • Land cultivation expansion
Ukrzernoprom Agro is currently expanding the amount of land leased for production purposes and not for speculative trading operations. As of February 2011, the Company operated on 94 ths ha. 
 
  • Crop yield and effectiveness
The yields of Ukrzernoprom Agro are usually higher than average yields in Ukraine. For example, the Company’s wheat and rapeseed yields are, as a general rule, 25-35% higher compared to Ukrainian average yields. Ukrzernoprom Agro’s subsidiaries constantly bring in new technologies for agricultural crop growing, state-of-the-art land cultivation methods and up-to-date energy saving technologies.

The key competitive advantages of Ukrzernoprom Agro include a solid team of professionals who have been in the agricultural business in Ukraine for over 12 years.
 
  • Transparent and effective management strategy
Presently, the Company is implementing changes to management processes under the guidance of experienced specialists, is imbedding modern corporate management methods, and installing a new IT system. In 2008 Ukrzernoprom Agro was certified according to ISO 9001:2008 standards.
   
  • Geographical diversification of lands – minimization of risks
The Company has a presence in 13 regions of Ukraine, encompassing 30 agricultural firms and 2 machine and tractor stations (MTS). This allows us to cultivate land and operate with less machinery due to various intervals in sowing and harvesting campaigns, and, most importantly, to diversify climatic, political and social risks. 
 
  • The Company’s public status
Since March 12, 2008, shares in MCB Agricole Holding AG, the parent company of Ukrzernoprom Agro LLC, are traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN US55276H1032, Symbol 4GW1). A 24.4% stake placement was 5.5 times oversubscribed.
 
  • Social responsibility
The work of Ukrzernoprom Agro is based on principles of social responsibility. Social responsibility means achieving commercial success thru socially responsible means, which adhere to ethical principles and respect the dignity of people and communities as well as the environment. 
 
Ukrzernoprom Agro actively engages in finding solutions to important social problems facing farming communities in rural districts. Ukrzernoprom Agro assists those institutions in most need of help: hospitals, orphanages and churches. The Company also donates to schools located in settlements where its farms operate.
 
  • Environmental protection
Ukrzernoprom Agro contributes to solving ecological problems. The Company is making headway in using ecologically safe and effective systems of land cultivation. The Compnay’s use of mini-till technology allows it to protect and renew the fertile level of soil. It protects the soil against erosion, and improves grain quality, which becomes an ecologically clean product. Ukrzernoprom Agro uses fertilizers, which are approved for use in agricultural industry. One of the Company’s goals is to implement Kyoto Protocol requirements – the first global environmental protection agreement and a source for potentially additional financing measures of eco-friendly farming.
